Sutherland's Mission Trip
 Many people say that we have enough people in our family to make up a sport's team, but we consider ourselves on God's Missionary Team. Recently, we conducted an evangelistic series in Central Philippines March 14 - 29, 2008. We went with the Quiet Hour and Share Him.
Curtis was in Japan with the Alaska Army National Guard from the last part of February until well into March, so he arrived in the Philippines at the end of the first week of meetings. Consequently, Joel spoke for the first week of meetings and Curtis spoke for the last week. We also were accompanied by a friend, Sandy Birdsong. She assisted Brenda with the children as well as presented health talks.
The family left from the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, AK at 3:45 AM on Monday, March 10. We had to drive the 7 hours from our home in Delta Jct. to Anchorage on Sunday. We flew on China Airlines direct to Taipei, Taiwan. Then we flew South to the Philippines.
We had our orientation meetings in Manila, at the North Philippine Union Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, on March 12; while staying at the Atrium Hotel. We then flew south to Bacolod, on the 13th, where we had the meetings at the Paglaum Seventh-day Adventist Church, which started on Friday night, the 14th. We stayed at the Sugarland Hotel. We returned on Sunday, April 6, where (due to the time change) we landed in Anchorage several hours before we left Manila!
